Was there any doubt that the top play in 2024 wouldn’t be the one that sits as arguably the greatest stat line in baseball history?

Shohei Ohtani doesn’t just do it all – he does it all and makes you believe that he’s not real. He does things you may not even be able to do in Road to the Show in MLB The Show.

On Sept. 19, 2024, Ohtani went 6-for-6 with three HRs, 10 RBIs (a Dodgers single-game record) and two steals, securing baseball’s first 50/50 season in a 20-4 rout of the Marlins at loanDepot park in Miami.

The play was officially named as the No. 1 play of 2024 by MLB’s social media pages, as seen on X.

Ohtani, 30, turned in a memorable season, winning the NL MVP award and a World Series championship. He hit .310/.390/.646 with 54 HRs, 130 RBIs and 59 steals in 63 attempts across 159 games, posting a WAR of 9.2.

He is still yet to throw a pitch. He is expected to be a part of a stellar rotation in 2025 that includes Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Tony Gonsolin and Bobby Miller. His first start will come during year 2 of a 10-year, $700 million contract he signed with the Dodgers in 2023.

Your Turn: How could Shohei Ohtani top hitting three HRs and 10 RBIs in a game? Tell us below in the comments!
