Blake Snell’s move to the Dodgers has already sparked drama, as the pitcher fired back at a disgruntled Giants fan on Instagram, showing he’s ready to embrace the spotlight and pride of pitching in Los Angeles.

Snell, 32, signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Dodgers on Nov. 26 after spending the last four season as a rival to his new team, pitching three seasons for the Padres and one for the Giants.

Clapping Back: Blake Snell Defends his Decision on Instagram

There’s a lot of pride for Snell to be a Dodger already – enough for him to step up and reply back to a Giants fan on Instagram.

User asif_iqbal_8_, like many Giants fans, were not thrilled when Snell chose to sign with the arch-nemesis Dodgers. The user posted: “Yeah we were following you when you were with the Giants. But sadly you choose (chose) money over greatness.”

Enter Snellzilla4, Snell’s Instagram handle, who replied back to the users saying “Go Dodgers (blue heart emoji). Be upset with your team. Don’t hate when you don’t know anything other than where I signed.”

It’s possible the Giants didn’t pony up the cash to bring Snell back after he went 5-3 with a 3.12 ERA, 2.43 FIP and 1.048 WHIP, alongside a 12.5 K/9 in 20 starts.

How Snell Strengthens the Dodgers’ Rotation

Just one year removed from winning the NL Cy Young award with the Padres, Snell will now anchor a Dodgers pitching rotation that includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, Tony Gonsolin and Bobby Miller.

It could still potentially add one of Roki Sasaki or Jack Flaherty, as well.

We may find out more behind why Snell chose Los Angeles other than rings. But to Snell’s point, there’s a lot of greatness associated with earning a huge contract and the opportunity to win your first World Series title in Los Angeles.

For what it’s worth, we think you made the right move, Blake.
