Cody Shines as Dodgers and White Sox End in 2-2 Split

During the 3rd Spring Training game of the 2020 season, it was Outfielder Cody Thomas who had himself quite a day. It started with a 6th inning home run, which gave Thomas his first homer of Spring Training. Omar Estevez also hit a home run for the Dodgers putting them up 2-0. Thomas also impressed on defense by robbing Blake Rutherford of the White Sox of a 2-run home run. The White Sox would tie the game in the 9th forcing a 2-2 final score.

The Dodgers selected Thomas in the 13th round of the 2016 MLB draft. In 2019, Thomas displayed some power by hitting 23 home runs, while driving in 76 runs last season in AA Tulsa. The left-handed batter also has experience playing football. The Texas native was once the backup QB for Baker Mayfield at the University of Oklahoma.
