How The Dodgers Farm System Is Looking After Their World Series Win
December 6, 2020Why Each Dodger Finalist For This Year’s All-MLB Team Deserves Recognition
December 7, 2020Free Agent DJ LeMahieu is on the radar of a lot of teams. This list includes the Los Angeles Dodgers, who showed interest to LeMahieu in the past. According to Jeff Passan, the Dodgers remain interested in the infielder as a potential replacement for one of their own, Free Agent Justin Turner. LeMahieu has the ability to play all across the infield, and fulfills Friedman’s desire need for a right-handed bat. We don’t know the extent of the Dodgers interest in LeMahieu just yet because the Dodgers have also been linked to Kris Bryant and Nolan Arenado. One thing is starting to become clear though, and that is the Dodgers are exploring their options at third base. Sources indicate LeMahieu is chasing a 5 year, $100 million deal, which is justifiable given he was a MVP finalist for 2020 and is only 32 years of age. The Dodgers and LeMahieu could make it work. Once Kody Hoese is ready to be the teams every day third baseman, the Dodgers may have an opening at first base or an agreement has been reached to create the universal DH before the 2022 season begins.
Rumors are circulating that the DH will not be involved in the 2021 season for the National League, which makes it harder for the Dodgers to bring back Justin Turner at his given age & stress on his legs that’s accumulated over the years.
