A Quick Summary

For the tenth time this season, the Dodgers and the Giants faced off in what turned out to be a showing of missed opportunities for Los Angeles.

The Dodgers were tasked with facing a rookie starting pitcher whose numbers are far from pretty in the early part of this season, and the team simply couldn’t cash in and exploit that. Tyler Beede, the Giants’ rookie hurler who entered this outing with an 8.06 ERA, went on to earn his first win in the Major Leagues as the Giants secured a 3-2 win over the Dodgers on Monday night.

The Dodgers finished the night with two runs on five hits and five walks. The team went 1 for 5 with runners in scoring position against the Giants on Monday, stranding eight runners.

DLD Player of the Game

Max Muncy

Going 2 for 3 in the game with a solo home run in the second inning, Muncy was the easy choice for Player of the Game in Monday’s match-up with the Giants. Muncy has now hit four home runs in his last six games, and will be looking to do more damage in game two of this four-game set this week.
