Post-Game Briefing

Following a critical 4-2 win in game one, the Dodgers entered Thursday’s game with a chance to advance to the National League Divisional Series. The Dodgers’ offense had some struggles against Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff, striking out nine times at the hand of Woodruff. However, L.A.’s bats racked up three runs on six hits and a walk, doing enough to support Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw on the way to a 3-0 win over Milwaukee.

Clayton Kershaw was magnificent versus the Brewers on Thursday night, piecing together one of the greatest postseason starts of his career. Kershaw went eight innings full, allowing no runs on three hits and one walk, striking out a whopping 13 batters. The start earns Kershaw his 10th career postseason victory.

Scoring Plays

  • BOT 5TH: Barnes RBI single (1-0 LAD)
  • BOT 5TH: Betts RBI double (3-0 LAD)

Play of the Game

In the bottom of the fifth inning, as the game was scoreless, Austin Barnes knocked a single up the middle and through to Brewers center fielder Avisail Garcia, plating Chris Taylor from second base and giving the Dodgers a lead they would carry all the way to the end of this game.

Player of the Game

Hands down, Clayton Kershaw was unstoppable on Thursday night. 13 strikeouts is Kershaw’s postseason career-high and ranks as the third-most strikeouts ever recorded by a Dodgers pitcher in a postseason game. Clayton Kershaw, without a doubt, is tonight’s Dodgers-LowDown Player of the Game.
