POST-GAME BRIEFING
While the pitching held for the Dodgers, the offense was a different story. The Dodgers went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring in position during tonight’s game. They had plenty of opportunities to score runs, but couldn’t capitalize. Pitching was strong on both sides: the Dodgers held the Padres to two runs thanks to a strong start from Dustin May and spectacular defensive plays. For the Padres, it was mostly a bullpen game; they used six different pitchers to hold the Dodgers to just one run.
SCORING PLAYS
- BOT 1st: Cody Bellinger RBI single (1-0)
- TOP 5th: Austin Hedges solo HR (1-1)
- TOP 6th: Eric Hosmer RBI single (2-1)
DLD PLAY OF THE GAME
The DLD Play of the Game goes to Chris Taylor, who turned a beautiful double play that helped the Dodgers get out of a jam and kept the deficit to just two runs.
At least the #Dodgers defense is fully functional tonight. pic.twitter.com/TGrQhHwWcH

Sit down, young man. May's not having it. #Padres 0 #Dodgers 1
