Post-Game Briefing

Down 2-0 in the NLCS, the Dodgers came back in a huge way as they managed to score 15 runs in Game Three with home runs from Joc Pederson, Edwin Ríos, Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger, and Corey Seager. The Dodgers’ offense had been quiet until the seventh and ninth innings of last night’s game, which seemed to carry over to tonight as they ambushed the Braves from the get-go. The offense took Braves’ starter Kyle Wright out in the first inning. Wright only recorded two outs and gave up seven runs. The Dodgers also managed to get to reliever Grant Dayton for eight more runs, for a total of 15, which turned out to be more than enough.

The Dodgers’ pitching didn’t need that much run support, but as Julio Urías threw a solid five innings while only giving up one run and striking out five. The Dodgers’ bullpen was able back up Urías as Kenley Jansen, Pedro Baez, and Alex Wood didn’t allow a run through three innings of relief, while notching four strikeouts between the three of them. Adam Kolarek came into the ninth to close it out, giving up two runs, but it ultimately didn’t matter given the monstrous lead the Dodgers had.

DLD Play Of The Game

The DLD Play of the Game goes to the entire offense in the first inning. The Dodgers had an incredible start to the game with home runs from four of their key players. Max Muncy was the one to put the icing on the cake with a grand slam, which ended up making it 11-0 before the Braves had a turn to hit.

DLD Player Of The Game

The DLD Player of the Game goes to the Dodgers’ offense as a whole, scoring 15 runs in three innings. In total, the Dodgers hit five home runs from Joc Pederson, Edwin Ríos, Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger, and Corey Seager. The offense played so well that it’s hard to just pick one player!

UP Next

The Dodgers will look to even up the series at two games a piece as they will send their trusted ace Clayton Kershaw to the mound. Kershaw was scratched from Game Two, due to back spasms, but he has been cleared to start Game Four. He hasn’t pitched since he last faced the Padres in the NLDS where he lasted six innings while gave up three runs and struck out six.

Meanwhile, the Braves will be countering with rookie right-handed Bryse Wilson. He only has 15.2 of major league innings under his belt during the regular season with an ERA of 4.02 and 15 strikeouts. The Braves will be expected to go to their bullpen for most of the game, so Wilson won’t be pitching for too long. Game time will be at 5:08 PM PT.
