Post-Game Briefing
After Thursday night’s 9-3 victory over the Rockies to begin this four-game series, the Dodgers wasted no time hanging a crooked number on Friday. The Dodgers’ offense combined for 17 hits and four walks in the high altitudes of Denver, as all nine starting hitters recorded a hit and eight of nine scored a run. Mookie Betts, Corey Seager, Chris Taylor, Cody Bellinger, Edwin Rios, Gavin Lux, and Austin Barnes each had multi-hit games against the National League’s worst pitching staff by ERA. According to Baseball Savant’s Statcast game feed, the Dodgers torched 20 hard-hit balls as a unit.
The Dodgers pieced together yet another bullpen game on Friday, this time led off by Alex Wood. Wood worked his way through two innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out two batters. Following Wood out of the ‘pen, in order, were Brusdar Graterol, Adam Kolarek, Dylan Floro, Jake McGee, Joe Kelly, and Mitch White. Floro was the only pitcher in the group following Wood to allow any runs.

Play of the Game
In the top of the sixth inning, Mookie Betts launched a home run beyond the wall in left field. The home run was Betts’ 16th of the season, giving him the sole lead of the National League home run race. Betts’ key home run in this tight MVP race earns tonight’s Dodgers-LowDown Play of the Game.
