DLD Recap: Dodgers Slug Past Rockies in the Mile High City

Following back-to-back victories versus the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers traveled to Denver to begin a four-game set against the Colorado Rockies. On Thursday, the Dodgers’ offense racked up 11 hits and six walks, scoring nine runs. Corey Seager led the way for the Dodgers offensively, recording two hits with an exit velocity above 100 MPH.

Despite a tough first inning, Julio Urías pitched well for the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing just two runs on three hits over five and two-thirds innings. Dylan Floro entered the game following Urías, striking out two batters and earning the win.

Play of the Game

In the top of the seventh inning, Mookie Betts knocked a single into center field, scoring Kiké Hernandez from second base. Betts’ RBI base hit gave the Dodgers a lead they would not surrender, earning him tonight’s Dodgers-LowDown Play of the Game.

Player of the Game

Corey Seager collected three hits in five at-bats on Thursday night, including a home run and a double. Seager’s efforts opening the Dodgers’ scoring and extending their seventh-inning lead earns him tonight’s Dodgers-LowDown Player of the Game.

Up Next

After capping off their third consecutive win, the Dodgers will continue this four-game weekend set in Colorado. The Dodgers have yet to announce their starting pitcher for Friday’s 5:10 PM PDT start against Ryan Castellani and the Rockies.
