POST-GAME BRIEFING
It was a rough game for the Dodgers as their starter Dustin May left the game early with a reported left foot contusion as he took a comebacker and still tried to pitch. Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, decided to pull him after a couple warm up pitches and left the rest of the game to the bullpen which held together until the 6th inning. Tony Gonsolin was in charge of pitching in most of the game as he went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs in a game he probably didn’t expect to pitch in. Before Gonsolin, relief pitchers Victor Gonzalez and Alex Wood went a combined two innings and didn’t give up a hit.
In terms of offense for the Dodgers tonight, there wasn’t much, as the only production came from Corey Seager and AJ Pollock with back to back home-runs. There was a crucial point in the 4th inning in which they had the bases loaded with only one out and Corey Seager would end up grounding into a double play which seemed to be the only real chance the Dodgers could’ve scored. Designated Hitter/Catcher Will Smith quietly had a good day at the plate as he went 4 for 4 in a game that saw him go from DH to Catcher in a pinch hitting move that later removed the DH spot from the Dodgers.
SCORING PLAYS
- TOP 3rd: Corey Seager solo HR (1-0)
- TOP 3rd: AJ Pollock solo HR (2-0)
- BOT 3rd: Christian Walker two RBI double (2-2)
- BOT 6th: Daulton Varsho RBI triple (2-3)
- BOT 6th: Carson Kelly two run HR (2-5)
PLAY OF THE GAME
Instead of the usual play of the game, plays of the game go to both Corey Seager and AJ Pollock for going back to back. This unfortunately would be the only time the Dodgers ended up scoring, but it helped the Dodgers out to an early lead.

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Player of the game goes to Will Smith for his 4 for 4 performance, he would end up only coming just a home-run and a triple away from the cycle, the hardest to get. In a night where there wasn’t much offense, Dodger fans should appreciate the consistency of the bat from Smith tonight.
Smith follows his single with a double. There are now a pair of runners in scoring position with no outs for the #Dodgers. Barnes up.
