Post-Game Briefing
Following Monday’s 5-4 loss to the Padres, the Dodgers entered game two of this three-game set looking to force a rubber match on Wednesday. Mookie Betts was omitted from the Dodgers’ lineup for a second consecutive night with his nagging finger injury.
The Dodgers gave the starting job to their best pitching prospect, Dustin May, in a battle that would feature one of the Padres’ best pitching prospects, Dinelson Lamet. The two pitchers faired well against the respective opposing lineups, making it into the sixth inning while allowing only two runs each. However, May ended up taking home the win, his first of the year, en-route to the Dodgers’ 5-2 victory over the Padres.

DLD Play of the Game
With the game tied at two runs apiece, the Dodgers brought A.J. Pollock into the game in the form of a pinch-hitter. With this at-bat, Pollock slashed an RBI double into the outfield that gave the Dodgers their first lead of the night, which they would carry all the way to the end of the game.

DLD Player of the Game
On Tuesday night, Dustin May went six innings against the Padres on the way to hitting a number of benchmarks. May’s start represented his first win of the 2020 season, the first quality start of his career, and was a platform for him to rack up a career-high eight strikeouts. For his efforts in out-dueling the Padres’ young starter, Dustin May earns Tuesday’s Dodgers-LowDown player of the game honors.
