Post-Game Briefing
After an 8-1 win versus the San Francisco Giants on Opening Day, the Dodgers followed their dominating performance with another blowout, this time defeating the Giants by a score of 9-1. The Dodgers combined for 13 hits on the night, two of which left the yard. The owner of both Dodgers home runs was Max Muncy, one of four Dodgers to finish the night with a multi-hit game to their credit. To pair with the Dodgers’ hitting onslaught, the Giants played a very sloppy game on defense, committing four errors.
Ross Stripling was given the nod to start Friday’s game against the Giants and did not disappoint. Stripling worked his way through seven innings while surrendering just one run, coming on a solo home run in the top half of the third inning. The start was just the second of Stripling’s career in which he threw seven innings of one-run baseball while striking out seven or more batters. For his efforts, Stripling earned the win, starting his season with a 1-0 record.

DLD Play of the Game
In the fifth inning, left fielder Chris Taylor made a dangerous collision with Giants first baseman Pablo Sandoval while running out a groundball. For his grit and determination to keep the offense going with what would be ruled a single, Taylor earns tonight’s DLD Play of the Game.

DLD Player of the Game
The Dodgers played a nearly perfect game of baseball on both the offensive end and the defensive end. Max Muncy led the way for the Dodgers offense, going 3-4 with a walk, a pair of home runs, and three RBI. On the other end, Ross Stripling pitched through the seventh inning, allowing just one run on four hits while racking up seven strikeouts. With the well-rounded game played by the Dodgers, Max Muncy and Ross Stripling share tonight’s DLD Player of the Game honors.
