Post-Game Briefing

After winning the first two games of this four-game series with the Mariners, the Dodgers traveled to Seattle for the latter two games of this traveling series in which two games are played at each team’s ballpark. The Dodgers’ offense struggled to string together hits and manufacture runs, scoring three of their four runs on solo home runs, and leaving seven runners on base.

Julio Urías made his fifth start of the 2020 season on Wednesday, struggling to keep his pitch count low and keep runners off the bases. Over his one and two-thirds innings of work, Urías surrendered one run on four hits and a walk. Following Urías out of the bullpen was Dennis Santana, who surrendered four runs over two-thirds innings. The remainder of the bullpen’s evening consisted of appearances from Dylan Floro, Pedro Báez, and Victor González, who gave up a single run as a group.

In the sixth inning, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and first baseman Max Muncy were ejected by home plate umpire Mark Ripperger for arguing balls and strikes.

Play of the Game

In the eighth inning, Justin Turner hit a single to center field on which Mookie Betts was capable to come around and score the Dodgers’ fourth and final run of the game. The base hit extended Turner’s hitting streak to 13 games, earning it tonight’s Dodgers-LowDown Play of the Game.

Player of the Game

Despite having no RBI, Mookie Betts played a big role in the Dodgers’ offense on Wednesday night, finding his way on base three times. Betts’ hit and pair of walks earn him tonight’s Dodgers-LowDown Player of the Game.
