POST-GAME BRIEFING
On a night where the Dodgers should be celebrating Justin Turner’s 1,000th career hit, it was a night of struggles at the plate once again and a bad night for Ross Stripling. The offense couldn’t seem to figure out Padres starter Garrett Richards as they could only scratch one run off him through 6 innings. It wasn’t Ross Stripling’s night as he made two mistakes that cost the Dodgers gravely as he gave up a grand slam to Manny Machado and a solo home run to Jurickson Profar.
SCORING PLAYS
- BOT 1st: Chris Taylor RBI single (1-0)
- TOP 3rd: Austin Hedges error (1-1)
- TOP 3rd: Manny Machado grand slam (5-1)
- TOP 5th: Jurickson Profar solo HR (6-1)
- BOT 9th: Austin Barnes RBI single (6-2)
DLD PLAY OF THE GAME
Despite the lack of offense from the Dodgers, there was a certain moment where Joc Pederson bunted for a base hit that definitely deserves Play of the Game. The Padres bunted for back to back base hits that seemed to get under the Dodgers skin as Pederson bunted for a hit the next inning that certainly warrants some chuckles.

DLD PLAYER OF THE GAME
The Player of the Game goes to Justin Turner as congratulations are in order for him as he hit his 1,000th career hit tonight off of Richards. Unfortunately, there won’t be much celebrating as the Dodgers offense will have some figuring out to do. However, Turner should be complimented nonetheless for his hard work and success since coming to the Dodgers.
