Dodgers Add RHP Mitchell White, OF DJ Peters, & INF/OF Zach McKinstry To The 40-Man Roster

Prior to today’s deadline for all major league teams to add players to their 40-man roster to protect them from next month’s Rule-5 Draft, the Dodgers announced that they decided to add right-handed pitcher Mitchell White, outfielder DJ Peters, and infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry.

White, 24, was drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Santa Clara University. In his 4 seasons in the minors, White is 14-15 with a 3.97 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and a 311/102 K/BB ratio in 294.2 innings (75 games, 67 games started). Last season White split time between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’s currently listed by MLBPipeline.com as the team’s #9 prospect.

Peters, 23, was drafted by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Western Nevada College. In his 4 seasons in the minors, Peters has hit .269/.363/.501 with 96 doubles, 13 triples, 92 home runs, 271 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, 304 runs scored, and a 615/205 K/BB ratio in 455 games. Last season Peters split time between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’s currently listed by MLBPipeline.com as the team’s #12 prospect.

McKinstry, 24, was drafted by the Dodgers in the 33rd round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Central Michigan University. In his 4 seasons in the minors, McKinstry has hit .270/.357/.416 with 61 doubles, 14 triples, 30 home runs, 149 RBIs, 23 stolen bases, 182 runs scored, and a 288/147 K/BB ratio in 356 games. Last season White split time between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’s currently not listed on the team’s top 30 prospects by MLBPipeline.com.

With the additions of White, Peters, and McKinstry the Dodgers’ 40-man roster is now full.
