A shake up is coming to the Single-A California League in the 2026 season, and it’s affecting the Dodgers in a few ways that could impact the fan experience.

Many Dodger fans have visited Rancho Cucamonga and LoanMart Field (formerly known as the Epicenter) to watch future Dodgers grow, and also to watch returning big-league players rehabbing from injury as they prepare to return to the Majors shortly after.

This season will be the Quakes’ final season as the Minor League affiliate of the Dodgers, as the owners of the team have entered into an agreement to sell the team to Diamond Baseball Holdings, an organization that owns and operates a group of minor league clubs affiliated with Major League Baseball.

The Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate will play one final season in Rancho Cucamonga before relocating to a new ballpark in the city of Ontario beginning with the 2026 season. Rancho Cucamonga will welcome back the Angels organization, which currently is represented by the Inland Empire 66ers, whom the Dodgers previously represented from 1995-2000, and again from 2007-2010.

Fans in Rancho Cucamonga will recognize some familiar faces, as the front office will remain intact.

“We’re grateful for the unrelenting support we’ve received from Quakes fans and the local community over the years, and we’re excited to reunite with the Angels to embark on an exciting partnership as their Single-A affiliate in 2026,” said Grant Riddle, Quakes Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Meanwhile, it’s full speed ahead for the Dodgers’ Single-A future in Ontario. The 190-acre, $100 million Ontario Sports Empire Complex will include top-tier athletic facilities, multiple fields for youth sports and the professional baseball stadium.

It is not uncommon to watch MLB teams shift minor league affiliates, as the clubs associate themselves via contracts.

The Ontario Sports Empire Complex, set to open in fall 2026, is projected to bring in 1.2 million visitors each year, generate $70 million in annual economic impact and support nearly 700 jobs.

You can find more information about the upcoming team, including the naming of the team at its official website.
