Post-Game Briefing

The Dodgers returned to their home facility in Glendale after Thursday’s loss to the Oakland Athletics, looking to turn the tide after a slow offensive night in Mesa. The Seattle Mariners were the Dodgers’ opponents on Friday, coming in as losers of their last five games. But, despite the perfect set-up for the Dodgers to capitalize on a game against a team caught in a downward spiral, the Dodgers had their share of miscues and struggles that ultimately led to what is now back-to-back losses for Los Angeles.

Ross Stripling took the mound as the Dodgers’ starting pitcher on Friday night and pitched well. Stripling completed three innings of work for L.A., allowing one run on four hits. Stripling also recorded three punchouts in the game. For Seattle, starting pitcher Nick Margevicius went two and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits and a pair of walks. Margevicius recorded just one more strikeout than Stripling in his start, posting four K’s on the night.

Dodgers-LowDown Player of the Game

Corey Seager played a big role in the team’s offense on Friday night, going 2 for 2 with a double. Most importantly, Seager was able to take full advantage of his hits, coming around to score both times. Without Seager’s consistent contributions at the plate, the Dodgers offense may not have gotten anything going on the basepaths.

Up Next
