The Dodgers are still at home as they open a 3-game set against the Colorado Rockies.
The Dodgers looked in complete control throughout this entire game as Dodgers fans finally got to see Mookie Betts in person for the first time in Los Angeles. First, both Corey Seager and Chris Taylor hit back-to-back solo home runs to open up the game in the bottom of the first. Then, Betts decided to put on a show for the fans, as he hit a solo home run of his own in the bottom of the third. Max Muncy decided to also get in on the home run action as he hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th. The Dodgers tacked a few extra runs that weren’t bombs, but Trevor Bauer didn’t need it as he was on point for his first game at Dodgers stadium.
Bauer Makes Rockies Hitters Look Foolish
As mentioned, Trevor Bauer had Colorado Rockies looking silly all night as he went seven great innings of 1 hit baseball with nine strikeouts. The only blemish came from his own hands as he allowed an infield single which he tried to field but couldn’t get the out. Other than that, Bauer was impressive as ever as Dodgers fans got to watch the most significant off-season acquisition up close. He also recorded history, which is never bad for someone who was locked on as Bauer was.

Bullpen Locks It Down
After Bauer’s magnificent display, Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, gave the ball to David Price, who hadn’t pitched in 8 days. It just goes to show you how effective the Dodgers starting pitching has been and has given Dave Roberts plenty of options on how to manage his pitching staff. Price came in for an inning and looked sharp as he notched up a couple of strikeouts, not bad for a pitcher who hasn’t seen any action in a while. Scott Alexander came in to shut the door in the 9th inning as he only gave up a hit but closed it out in a non-save situation as the Dodgers were up seven runs.
Looking Ahead
The Dodgers will look to continue their impressive start of the season as they are now 9-2 as they take on the Rockies again in game 2. The boys in blue will send Dustin May to keep their win streak alive as he looked dominant in his last outing against the Oakland Athletics. He went six innings while only giving up two hits with eight strikeouts and recorded his first win of the season. The Rockies will counter with Jon Gray, who looked well in his last outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks as he went 6.2 innings while only giving up one run on two hits with five strikeouts in which he also recorded his first win on the season. Game time will be at 7:10 pm PST.
