Here’s a brief look at some Dodgers news leading up to the game.

• Former top prospect Yadier Alvarez will make his cactus league debut on Friday. Alvarez was placed on the restricted list twice late last season. There was no official reason but Alvarez admitted to acting immaturely and sought professional help to resolve this issue.
• Jimmy Nelson came out of his bullpen session yesterday with lower body discomfort. He’s been dealing with lower back and groin issues during Spring Training. He’s been shut down until further notice.
• Dustin May is still dealing with side soreness. May hasn’t thrown off a mound since the beginning of Spring Training.
• Joc Pederson is dealing with an oblique issue. He hasn’t swung a bat during Spring Training.
• Top prospect catcher Keibert Ruiz will make his Cactus League debut today and his first start Saturday with Buehler on the mound.
