Betts met with pediatric patients, helping them select Christmas gifts at the UCLA Medical Center holiday boutique. He gifted all patients with official Dodger merchandise just under two weeks before Christmas.
“The holidays are an exciting time of the year, especially for young people, and it should be no different for these kids who are celebrating this year in the hospital,” Betts said. “They deserve to smile, and I’m happy we’re able to be a part of it.”
“Nothing puts a smile on a child’s face like meeting their favorite athlete or getting a surprise visit from one of Santa’s helpers. Today, we were able to do that for some of the most deserving children in Los Angeles,” said Kristin McGowan, Vice President of Community and Government Affairs with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“UCLA is a remarkable advocate for creating special experiences for their pediatric patients. Mookie left an imprint on the lives of these children and their families that will stay with them forever, just as the team did for its fanbase during the historic 2024 World Series win. That’s what the holidays are about,” McGowan said.
