Dodgers Top Prospect Will Miss The Rest Of The Season

The Dodgers have put one of their top prospects, catcher Keibert Ruiz, on the 7 day injured list. It was reported earlier today, by Ron Cervenka of ThinkBlue and Tim Rogers of Dodgers Nation, that he broke his finger from hit by pitch during an at bat. He will undergo a surgical procedure to repair the finger and miss the rest of the season.

Keibert started the season at AA Tulsa until his promotion to AAA Oklahoma City. In 76 games with the Drillers he slashed .254/.329/.330 with 33 runs, 25 RBI, 21 strikeouts and 28 walks in 310 plate appearances. In his last 9 games with the OKC Dodgers he slashed .316/.350/.474 with 6 runs, 9 RBI, 1 strikeout, and 2 walks in 40 plate appearances.
