Dodgers Acquire Blake Treinen
December 11, 2019Dodgers Announce 2020 Coaching Staff
December 12, 2019The Dodgers announced that Blake Treinen would be coming to the team on a 1-year deal, but they appear to not be done.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports,
“Dodgers among most aggressive on Dellin Betances. After not getting Cole pivot to high-end relievers coming off problem 2019s.”
Betances would be a great short-term commitment to the Dodgers who witnessed their bullpen collapse in the NLDS. At only the age of 31, the right-handed reliever still has upside after coming off an injury depleted season by pitching 0.2 innings during the regular season. Betances has a career ERA of 2.36. The 4 time All-Star has logged as many 90 innings in a season, but in 2018 he logged 66.2 innings, which would still make a great addition. Betances has thrown as hard as 98 MPH, but 95 seems to be his average.
Imagine a 7th,8th, and 9th of Betances, Treinen, Jansen. Sounds pretty powerful.
