Freddie Freeman’s $300,000 Donation to Wildfire Relief
The 35-year-old World Series MVP Freeman, along with his wife, Chelsea, are MVPs once more, as they donated $300,000 to aid in wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan shares on X that the donation will consist of $100,000 to each of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the Pasadena Fire Department and the Salvation Army.
Impact of Los Angeles Wildfires: The Latest Updates
As of 6:35 p.m. PT, the latest updates show that at least six wildfires have combined to burn roughly 36,384 acres, according to CNN.
At least 11 people have died and more than 100,000 people are under evacuation orders, the sheriff’s department reported Friday, with tens of thousands more under warnings.
Currently, at least 10,000 properties have been destroyed according to the county assessor. Entire neighborhoods have been flattened.

- Eaton Fire: “Significant containment” expected by this evening.

Freddie Freeman’s 2024 Season
Freeman just completed the third year of a six-year, $162 million contract he signed on March 18, 2022. He made $27 million in 2024. Despite a down regular season that saw Freeman hit .282/.378/.476 with 22 HRs, 89 RBIs and 81 runs scored in 147 games, Freeman had a postseason to remember.
In the playoffs, he hit .250/.291/.519 with 4 HRs, 13 RBIs in 13 games, including a walk-off grand slam in Game 1 of the World Series against Yankees’ pitcher Nestor Cortes. He homered in four straight games in the World Series, combining with a home run in his final two games of the 2021 World Series with the Braves, setting a new Major League record for most consecutive World Series games with a home run with six.
