The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that Vin Scully will indeed narrate Major League Baseball’s official World Series documentary and actually recorded the documentary last week.
Scully, who retired in 2016 after serving as the team’s broadcaster for 67 years had this to say in a statement when asked about being asked to narrate the documentary.
“It was 32 years since the Dodgers won a World Series and the seventh in the history of the organization, bringing great joy to their fans and the city of Los Angeles in particular. This is their winning story against the Tampa Bay Rays, and it’s an honor for me to recount just how they did it.”
The documentary will not only feature Scully but will feature in-depth interviews with Dodger stars including National League MVP candidate Mookie Betts, NLCS and World Series MVP Corey Seager, and ace Clayton Kershaw. It will also feature unparalleled access to MLB’s Postseason Bubble that offers fans a never-before-seen look at the Dodgers’ historic championship.
The two-disc Blu-ray and DVD combo pack will be available to purchase and download on Tuesday, December 8. You can, however, pre-order your copy now.
