Dodger’s young starting pitcher, Julio Urias, made a rehabilitation appearance on Friday at Rancho Cucamonga with the Quakes, the Advanced-A Minor League affiliate of the Dodgers.
Julio Urias started tonight for the Quakes at home versus the Lancaster JetHawks, where he worked through an inning and two thirds on twenty-nine pitches. Nineteen pitches were thrown for strikes.
In his outing, Urias gave up a solo home run to Tyler Nevin in the second inning, allotting for his only run given up in the start. In regards to velocity, Urias’ fastball touched 95 MPH on the radar gun during Urias’ appearance.
With Kenley Jansen’s recent DL placement, Dodgers officials have said that Urias’ return could be sped up in order to give the team extra help in a hurry. Urias made his last Major League start on May 20th of 2017 before suffering a shoulder injury.
