Saturday evening, the Dodgers were announced to have reached a deal to re-sign their veteran third baseman, Justin Turner. The two-year deal is worth a reported $34M according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Turner, 36, has spent the last seven seasons of his career with the Dodgers, slashing .302/.382/.503 over 3,076 plate appearances in that time. In each season from 2016 to 2018, Turner finished in the top 15 for National League MVP voting, twice in the top 10.

With this signing, the Dodgers have filled their vacancy at third base, now set to start an infield of Will Smith at catcher, Max Muncy at first base, Gavin Lux at second base, Corey Seager at shortstop, and Turner at third base.

Here’s what Turner had to say when announcing his signing on Twitter:

Turner hit .307 with four home runs during the truncated 2020 season.
