Not much to report from Wednesday, but there was an organized Dodger game broadcasted live!
- Dave Roberts squashed the rumor of Kenley Jansen opting out of the season. Kenley is considered high-risk if exposed to the novel coronavirus because of his history with heart related issues. Since he hasn’t reported to Summer Camp, it’s led some people to believe he may opt-out due to his condition. Doc asserted this belief is invalid, according to AM 570 Dodgers reporter David Vassegh.
- Max Muncy says he injured his left ring finger Sunday when it was hit by a pitch he had trouble seeing due to the change of the batters eye in centerfield. He’s still feeling some pain but is confident he’ll be okay by opening day.
- Before yesterday, Tony Gonsolin was one of a group of players yet to report to Summer Camp. That’s until he was sighted on the field at Dodger Stadium.
- The players are having trouble getting used to the batters eye in centerfield. It’s caused players to be behind on pitches. Dave Roberts calls it unsettling, which is understandable when taking to account that it’s led to an injury already.
- Bobby Miller posted in his Instagram story what looks like him showing up to Summer Camp at Dodger Stadium. Miller was the Dodgers very first pick of the 2020 MLB draft. It was reported a couple of weeks ago that he would be added to the 60 man pool, but it wasn’t made official yet.
- Zach Reks, Cody Thomas, and Edwin Uceta have been placed on the ten day injured list. Doc could not share why they were placed on the IL, which has led most to believe they may have tested positive for COVID-19.
- Newly acquired right handed reliever, AJ Ramos reported to camp and threw around 30 pitches during a bullpen session on Tuesday. The former all-star is vying for a chance to play in 2020. With David Price opting out of the 2020 season, it opens up a spot on the 40 man roster, which Ramos can be considered a leading candidate to fill, making him eligible for the active roster.
- Roberts says Clayton Kershaw, Alex Wood, and Ross Stripling should be ready to throw 7+ innings or 100 pitches by opening day. Not as confident with Walker Buehler and Julio Urias yet.
- The Dodgers played their second intrasquad game Wednesday. Here was the matchup:
