News: Dodgers Recall DJ Peters; Option Edwin Uceta

The Dodgers recalled outfielder DJ Peters and optioned pitcher Edwin Uceta, the team announced via its Twitter account.

Peters, 25, appeared in three games in the Padres series two weeks ago. He went 0-for-5.

Fans are excited to see what Peters could do at the big-league level. He has hit 79 home runs over his last three minor-league seasons and driven in 223 runs. Standing at 6-foot-6, the Glendora native Peters certainly has a menacing frame.

Going away for the time being, Uceta threw 2 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings Friday night against the Angels, striking out one batter and walking another.

The injury to Dustin May, combined with the unexpected short outing of Clayton Kershaw earlier in the week triggered a need for the Dodgers to summon the 23-year-old hurler.
