The Dodgers recalled outfielder Luke Raley Tuesday from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He takes the roster spot vacated by catcher Keibert Ruiz, who was optioned Monday.
Raley, 26, is hitting .206/.308/.324 (7-for-34) in 14 games for the Dodgers, including a home run and two RBIs, and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 12:2. He last played for the Dodgers in their 8-0 victory over the Reds on April 28.
He returns for his third stint with the Dodgers after serving as the “27th man” last Tuesday in Game 2 of the Dodgers doubleheader against the Cubs.
Raley made his Major League debut on April 9 against the Nationals and recorded his first MLB hit on April 14 against the Rockies. He was originally acquired from the Twins on Feb. 10, 2020 along with Brusdar Graterol in exchange for Kenta Maeda and minor leaguer Jair Camargo.
The Dodgers open a nine-game homestand Tuesday night, hosting the Mariners, Marlins and Diamondbacks.
