Here’s a brief recap of today’s Dodger news prior to tonight’s game.

  • Earlier today, the Dodgers activated Max Muncy from the 10 day IL. He was placed in tonight’s lineup to start at first base. Muncy admitted the wrist isn’t 100% and that he’s more comfortable swinging a bat than he is throwing a ball. Dave Roberts is confident Max’s wrist won’t affect his throwing and will have him play second base. He will wear a brace the training staff made especially for him.
  • Rich Hill is with the team in New York and is also recieving treatment on his left knee. He will have an MRI on Monday when the team returns to Los Angeles. With Hill out of the rotation, Tony Gonsolin will take his spot this Wednesday at Dodger Stadium against the Rays.
  • Alex Verdugo will be in L.A. next week but still won’t participate in any baseball activities. He is unlikely to be ready for the first round of the playoffs.
  • Kristopher Negrón will not be with the team this weekend. He had a death in the family and is expected to rejoin the team this Tuesday back in Los Angeles.
  • Justin Turner has been ruled out for the series this weekend against the Mets but is slated to start Tuesday at Dodger Stadium against the Tampa Bay Rays.
