Here’s a brief recap of Dodger news prior to tonight’s game.
- The L.A. Times reported earlier that the Dodgers have sold a minority share to 2 investors whose identities are unknown at the moment. There are now 9 owners with Mark Walter remaining as the controlling owner and Stan Kasten as CEO. The other known 5 owners: Todd Boehly, Peter Guber, Ervin “Magic” Johnson, Bobby Patton, Billie Jean King, and Ilana Kloss.
- After last nights save, Kenley Jansen now has 6 seasons with at least 30 saves. He joins a group of 24 other pitchers that have 6 or more seasons of at least 30 saves. The only 2 active pitchers among the group are Aroldis Chapman (7 seasons) and Craig Kimbrel (8 seasons).
- Justin Turner was jogging and performing running excercises on the field. He won’t be available to play a game until he starts running the bases.
- Rich Hill threw a 22 pitch bullpen session with a knee brace on yesterday. The plan is to face live hitters on Friday and pitch out of the bullpen on Tuesday in San Diego versus the Padres.
- Tony Gonsolin was scratched from starting tonight’s in replace of Casey Sadler to serve as the opener. It’s likely Gonsolin will pitch a bulk of the innings tonight. Dave Roberts said Tony would be coming out of the bullpen if he were to make the postseason roster.
