Roki Sasaki’s Courtside Debut in Los Angeles
Sasaki is off to a fast start in Los Angeles, rooting on the Lakers to a 111-88 victory over the Washington Wizards Tuesday night, but also getting chummy with fellow LA athletes.
Fellow countryman of Japan and Lakers small forward Rui Hachimura met the 23-year-old Sasaki while warming up for the evening’s game. With reporters and fans taking photos and videos, Hachimura taught Sasaki how to pose with the LA sign.

Sasaki sat courtside for the ballgame and had encounters with other Lakers such as LeBron James. Check it out as Sasaki not only gained attention from the MLB X account, but also the NBA’s account.
With Sasaki electing to wear the No. 11 this upcoming season following signing a minor-league contract with the Dodgers, the Lakers gifted the pitcher with another No. 11, one in purple in gold.

What’s Next for Roki Sasaki in LA?
While the Dodgers have yet to officially introduce Sasaki, it is expected they will do so in the upcoming week.
The Japanese pitching sensation is expected to make the Dodgers’ Opening Day pitching rotation in 2025. Fans are excited to see his lively fastball, which has previously topped out at 102 mph.
