Start the Rally: Tweet This Now!Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is on the road to coming back on the mound in 2025, and a video surfaced on Twitter Sunday morning that showcases Ohtani having some fun as he gets ready to show Dodger fans a whole other side to him.
There has been much buzz following the 30-year-old Ohtani’s 50-50 season that led to him winning the NL MVP award and also put the Dodgers on track to win a World Series.
The video was originally posted by Sweetheart Mom Binbin on Chinese social media site Xiaohongshu in Chinese, and later relayed by parody account Cathy Maisy on X, shows Ohtani having some fun at Maranatha High School.
Upon digging a little deeper, Sweetheart Mom Binbin posted a picture and told a little bit more about what was going on with Ohtani that morning.
The post, timestamped January 4 at 17:21 (unsure if it’s timestamped locally, but if so, would translate to 5:21 p.m. PT), was an exciting one about finding Ohtani at 8:30 a.m. at Maranatha High School in Pasadena.
An Ordinary Morning Turned Stoic, Featuring Shohei Ohtani
“OMG! I took advantage of my brother’s fame and knew that his baseball coach was very (well connected) and had strong connections with the Major Leagues! I specially signed up for his baseball camp! Then at 8 a.m. in the morning, I accompanied my brother to practice, trembling with fear. In fact, I was waiting for Ohtani to show up! Sure enough, around 8:30, a tall and handsome boy showed up and made my mouth water. He was so handsome! Ohtani was photographed so ugly in the commercials. He is 100 times more handsome in person! However, I was too timid and didn’t even dare to go up and take a photo with him until the training was over! I was always thinking I should not disturb my idol and just watch him quietly. Now I regret it so much that my intestines are turning green. (laughs) I love #OhtaniShohei.

Ohtani is Ready to Build on a Big Year
Ohtani hit .310/.390/.646 with 54 HRs, 130 RBIs and 59 steals in 159 games in 2024, posting a 9.2 WAR and was the unanimous selection for National League MVP for the World Champion Dodgers. He is set to enter the second year of a 10-year, $700 million contract that will pay him $2 million in 2025.
