In the midst of a blockbuster trade with the Boston Red Sox, the Dodgers traded outfielder Joc Pederson and outfield prospect Andy Pages to the Angels for infielder Luis Rengifo.
To the Angels:
Joc Pederson, 27, was a 2010 11th round draft pick by the Dodgers. He made his major league debut in 2014 and since slashed .233/.339/.538 with a 120 wRC+. He’s in his last year of arbitration eligibility and will be a free agent by the end of the 2020 season.
Andy Pages, 19, was an international signing out of Cuba. He saw his first stint of Stateside pro ball in 2018. In his two seasons of rookie ball, Pages hit .287 with a 1.017 in 73 games.
To the Dodgers:
Luis Rengifo, 22, was signed by the Mariners as an international free agent out of Venezuela in 2013. The Dodgers will be the 4th organization he’s played for in his pro career. He spent 6 seasons in the minors putting up a career .765 OPS. He made his major league debut in 2019, posting a .685 OPS in 108 games.
This deal is reportedly still in the works. We’ll keep you updated when more details are available.
