Seventeen years ago I was approached in a chatroom about helping out with an upcoming project of a website that aimed to change the way news was reported in the world of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This was before Dodgers Twitter was a thing. It was before WordPress and other content management systems gained their fame in helping budding journalists and bloggers to share their voice. In those times, you needed to work for ESPN or some major medium to stand a chance.
Dodgers Nation was born, and I poured my heart and soul into it for six long years before moving on to other projects to advance my career. Both of us have grown tremendously since, and I am proud of what the team over there has done in establishing itself as a leader in reporting Dodgers news and rumors.
They say that you always return home though, and today I’m happy to say I’m back in the Dodgers reporting business, this time with the aid of a team filled with hungry talent — a team looking for a chance to prove itself to you, the fans.
We begin today with a new Dodgers brand called Dodgers Tailgate, and just like we did at the original Dodgers Nation – this site is for you, the fans of the greatest team in existence, the Dodgers.
Please engage on social media with our accounts. The best hot takes just might find their way back onto this website.
We’re still not finished though. This site is for you, the fans, and because of that it will continue to evolve every day with new features. So stay tuned for that.
I am going to get back to talking Dodgers baseball now, but I wanted to extend a quick hello on the site’s first day.
Welcome to Dodgers Tailgate! Please enjoy it to the fullest. Use the comments below to provide site feedback.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at info@dodgerstailgate.com.
Have a great time on the website and I will catch you at the Tailgate!
