As we are now roughly 6 days away from the July 31st trade deadline, there is word that there is yet another reliever that is reportedly on the Dodgers’ radar.
According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the Dodgers have expressed interest in Mets right-hander Edwin Díaz.
Dodgers continue to focus on high-end relievers, and Edwin Diaz would be a really good bet for them — if L.A. landed him, you can bet the Dodgers would have strong ideas about how to get him back in '18 mode. He's pitched better lately.

Díaz, 25, is 1-6 with a 4.81 ERA, 3.50 FIP, 1.42 WHIP, and a 61/13 K/BB ratio in 39.1 innings this season. He is also 22-for-26 in save situations. While Díaz’s numbers this year might not be all that impressive, Díaz is only a half-season removed from a year in which he posted a 1.96 ERA, 1.61 FIP, 0.79 WHIP, and a 124/17 K/BB ratio in 73.1 innings and was 57-for-61 in save situations.
In my opinion, Díaz is a guy that if the Dodgers could acquire him and get him back to being the pitcher he was in 2018 with the Mariners he would not only give the Dodgers an elite setup man but would change the whole dynamic of the bullpen.
