Less than 24 hours after the Dodgers’ bullpen blew yet another game comes word that the Dodgers are “showing continued interest” in Tigers right-hander Shane Greene.

Jon Morosi of Fox Sports is reporting according to sources that the Dodgers are “showing continued interest” in Greene but added that one scout observed that Greene throws his fastball at a similar eye level to current Dodgers right-hander Joe Kelly. That observation could potentially mean nothing or it could mean that the Dodgers might either avoid acquiring a reliever that profiles similar to a reliever they already have in their bullpen.
Greene, 30, 0-2 with a 1.06 ERA, 3.66 FIP, 0.85 WHIP, and a 35/10 K/BB ratio in 34.0 innings. He is also 22 for 24 in save situations (91.7%).
This is the second time this past week that the Dodgers have been linked to Greene and this is the second consecutive trade deadline that there has been chatter linking the Dodgers and Greene together. Could this be the year that the Dodgers finally pull the trigger and acquire Greene? We will just have to wait and see.
