Zac Rosscup Outrighted to AAA

About two hours prior to first pitch in Saturday night’s 10-6 victory over the Marlins, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com announced on Twitter that LHP Zac Rosscup, who was DFA’d on Monday, would be outrighted to AAA Oklahoma City after clearing through the DFA process.

The Dodgers currently have thirty-nine players on their 40-man roster, meaning the team is likely looking to either add a player from their minor league system or make a trade at the deadline that would fill the open spot. A player that has been making noise in the minor leagues and has yet to earn a 40-man roster spot is Gavin Lux. If the spot is filled by in-house options, it’s more than likely that Lux will be the guy for it.

This season with the Dodgers, Zac Rosscup has pitched in seven games, recording 3.0 innings worth of work, while posting an even 6.00 ERA. Paired with his 3.000 WHIP over the timeframe as well, it’s clear that Rosscup hasn’t had an effective season for the Dodgers this year. Hopefully time in the minor leagues will help him straighten things out and help him improve on his figures this year.
