On Wednesday morning, Mark Feinsand of MLB Network reported the Baltimore Orioles as “working to trade” twenty-seven year old RHP, Dylan Bundy. Most importantly, Feinsand also reported one deal for Bundy seems to be “getting close.” It’s undetermined which team this deal belongs to, but acquiring and assisting pitchers into a resurgence has L.A. Dodgers written all over it.
The Orioles are working to trade RHP Dylan Bundy, according to a source. No deal is imminent, but one appears to be getting close. The 27-year-old went 7-14 with a 4.79 ERA last season, and he's entering the second of three arbitration-eligible seasons.

Bundy’s numbers aren’t exactly the most appealing, but it’s seems almost inevitable that should Bundy leave Baltimore and the team’s recent history of struggles with pitching, he could fulfill his potential. Since the turn of the century, the Orioles have only sent two starting pitchers to the All-Star Game (John Means, Chris Tillman).
In 2019, Bundy recorded his best DRA in a single season (minimum 100 IP), according to Baseball Prospectus, paired with his best WARP of his career. Bundy has a five-pitch repertoire, which includes a four-seam fastball, a sinker, a curveball, a slider, and a change-up. Batters hit .152 against Bundy’s slider last season, a pitch he threw 22.7% of the time throughout the year.
Dylan Bundy becomes a free agent in 2022 and is projected by Spotrac to earn $5.7M in arbitration this year.
