The USA men’s baseball roster is starting to take shape, and there are a few familiar names that you might recognize that are planning to compete in the 2021 Olympics taking place in Tokyo. The Olympics will be held from July 23, 2021 through August 8, 2021.
The roster contains some notable former Dodgers including: Matt Kemp, Logan Forsythe, Tim Federowicz, Edwin Jackson, and Homer Bailey. The team will be managed by former Dodgers catcher Mike Scioscia, who won two World Series championships with the Dodgers, and managed the Angels to the 2002 World Series victory.
Matt Kemp was drafted by the Dodgers and played for the franchise from 2006 t0 2014 & 2018. He hit 203 home runs in Dodger Blue and made the All Star team three times. Kemp also hit a home run off Chris Sale in the 2018 World Series. Logan Forsythe played on the Dodgers from 2017 to 2018, and was apart of the 2017 World Series run. Tim Federowicz spent four years on the Dodgers Major League roster and is currently back in their minor league system. Edwin Jackson was drafted by the Dodgers, and he 5.50 ERA during his 3 seasons with the team. Finally Homer Bailey was acquired by the Dodgers in a salary dump trade acquisition, but he never actually pitched a game for the team as he was ultimately released before the season began.
